TAROT READINGS WITH JF GUIDELINES

When you choose to have a Tarot reading with Jean-François Gervais (JFG), you understand and consent to each of the following conditions:

Age: You are 18+ years old.

Asking Questions: You are asking about your own life and experience, not conducting a reading on behalf of a third party who isn’t present.

Professional Advice: Card readings with JFG do not (and are not intended in any capacity to) replace the evaluation of a professional in matters of health, law, or finances. In no circumstances is the information offered during a Tarot reading offered as legal, medical, psychological, or financial diagnosis or advice, nor is JFG an officially certified therapist, lawyer, or financial advisor.

Method: JFG’s readings are based on intuitive interpretation of Tarot symbolism — not psychic or mediumship abilities. JFG does not claim to communicate with spirits or possess supernatural powers.

The Future: Any reading that involves the exploration of future possibilities does not constitute an outright prediction. A reading may point to potentials but these are not absolutes.

Responsibility: JFG declines any responsibility, legal or otherwise, for choices you make following the reading. Your life = your responsibility = your choices = your experiences.

PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Communications: All communications concerning payments, cancellations, rescheduling and refunds are to be made by email to jf@essencetarot.com.

Payments: For live readings, payment is expected on the day of the reading. The 4 Seasons package and the 1 Question Voice Message readings are to be paid in advance. Payments can be made by credit card (processed by Stripe, you will receive a payment link by email). Canadian residents may send an Interac bank transfer (preferred) to jf@essencetarot.com and cash is accepted in person.

Readings Cancellations: For live readings, cancellations or rescheduling is expected at least 24 hours in advance of the session time. Readings cancelled in less than 24 hours will incur a 50% fee. For the 4 Seasons Package, cancellations are accepted for readings that have not been performed yet but if one or more readings have been performed, they will be considered at regular pricing, not the discounted price of the package. For the 1 Question Voice Message readings, refunds are possible if the reading has not occurred yet. For any refund issued under this policy, a 15% administrative fee will be deducted.

Mentorship Cancellations: You may cancel any remaining hours of pay-as-you-go mentorship or the Initiation Program that have not yet taken place. In such instances, hours that have already taken place will be calculated at the standard hourly rate (not the discounted fare for groups or packages) and a 15% administrative fee is deducted from the refund as well.

No-Shows: If you do not “show up” for a reading and no communication (email to jf@essencetarot.com) has been initiated on your part prior to session time, payment is still expected in full. If a payment had already been made, there is no refund.

Satisfaction: If you are not satisfied with the Tarot reading with JFG, there is no guarantee of a refund. The default policy is to not offer refunds in such a case.

Availability: JFG reserves the right to decline to do any reading for any reason at any time. In such a case, if a payment has already been made, a full refund will be issued.

PRIVACY POLICY

Person Responsible for the Protection of Personal Information: Jean-François Gervais (JFG) is responsible for the protection of personal information collected through this website and in the course of providing services. Any question, request, or concern regarding your personal information can be sent to jf@essencetarot.com

Confidentiality: JFG is personally committed to full confidentiality regarding what you share during a reading. What is said during the session stays in the session. Standard security measures are taken for online communications, but no method of electronic transmission or storage is entirely secure. Video sessions conducted through Zoom, Google Meet, or similar platforms are subject to those platforms’ own security and privacy practices, which are outside JFG’s control.

Breach Notification: If a security incident involving your personal information occurs, JFG will notify affected individuals, as required by law.

Recordings: If you requested an audio or video recording of the session (they are only made at your demand), the files will be made accessible for you to download through an encrypted internet cloud service for a short amount of time after the reading. JFG is not responsible for what happens to your audio file once you have downloaded it nor is he responsible if there is a breach or problem with the cloud service.

Your Rights: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information JFG holds about you by writing to jf@essencetarot.com. Requests will be addressed within a reasonable time frame, in accordance with applicable law.

Cookies: Please see the cookies notice displayed on the website for an up-to-date list of cookies being used. It’s minimal.

Website Statistics: Anonymous statistical information is collected through this website using Google Analytics, a service provided by Google that may process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Google Analytics is configured to anonymize IP addresses before use. This information relates to general user behaviour, is used only for statistical purposes, and is not used to identify individuals.

Newsletter: Information gathered when subscribing to the newsletter is not used for any purpose other than sending the newsletter. This information is not shared in any capacity with any third party.

COPYRIGHT AND WEBSITE CONTENT

Tarot Deck Images: The main Tarot decks used in the photography consist of various editions of the Tarot de Marseille from Jean-Claude Flornoy and Yoav Ben-Dov as well as the Pagan Otherworlds Tarot by Uusi, the Waite Smith deck published by US Games Systems and the Terra Volatile Tarot by Credo Quia Absurdum. All the artwork from those decks is the property of those artists and editors. Photography is made and owned by JFG.
